The purpose of this enhancement is to eliminate obsolete items from appearing in DealerVu created suggested orders.
Section: SOM - Obsolete/Pending Obsolete Flag Download from HDC to dealers
Feature: Dealers now receive a download that indicates if a part is Pending Obsolete (HDC Use Up status) or Obsolete (no longer orderable).
Overview:
The purpose of this enhancement is to eliminate obsolete items from appearing in DealerVu created suggested orders.
Implementation:
To see your Obsolete parts, go to Part Sales & Management > Purchase Orders > Tools > Suggested Ordering Management...:
The HDC Obsolete/Pending Obsolete flag download marks parts with their special status icon in the SOM screens and a special message on the part detail record:
Pending Obsolete parts show with a special icon () whenever that part appears on the Current Suggested Order SOM screen. This indicates that you may still be able to order the part from HDC, but supply may be limited:
Right-click on the part record on screen and select Supplier Availability to do an online check of how much quantity is available for order from the HDC inventory on hand.
If you view a part detail record of an item flagged by HDC as Pending Obsolete, the screen now shows a red status banner:

Parts that are flagged by HDC as Obsolete no longer show on the Current Suggested Order SOM screen so they are not transferred to purchase orders. However, Obsolete parts marked with a status of Stock can be viewed in the Alert query for Obsolete Parts. Obsolete parts display with the special icon when listed on the Obsolete Parts alert screen.
